In every stage the main purpose is to kill Scratchy, nothing else. So because of that I'm writing this guide as more of a general strategies and boss guide than an in-depth step by step guide. Trust me, killing Scratchy is an insanely simple task. In the SNES version you have to jump over him when he gets near, then attack when his back is turned. This time he will not run away so jump around while he's flashing, then strike again when he's back to normal. The best place to go is where there are no enemies. If Scratchy starts to use projectiles on you then make your way up to the highest point in the stage, which is usually a small platform. Then just memorize where he pops up from and stand nearby, constantly swinging your mallet. These tips apply to EVERY stage, so if you're stuck for whatever reason (though you will never be), just refer to these tips. If you're still stuck, then e-mail me. I've tested the tips, but I suppose there's always a fluke. Also in case ya don't realize it the enemies and obstacles in the stages also hurt Scratchy, so if you can stand next to an enemy or obstacle there's a good chance that Scratchy will get hurt without you even attacking him (Hint: Pusseidon Adventure, eel)! It is way too easy to kill Scratchy in the stages, but the bosses are the ones who'll give you the most trouble. So let us get to the boss strategies, shall we? ==================================================================== ===== 3.0 WALKTHROUGH ============================================== -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.1 Juracid Bath -------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the prehistoric waste land known as Juracid Bath. The clones run free here and so do the Kretaceous killers. So, you think that a simple turtle should be no problem? Yea right! The thing about the boss stages is that you have to kill the Scratchy clones to get the right weapons. You can either kill the clones in the stages to get the weapons, or kill the clones in the boss stage. In the Juracid Bath stage you have to hit the turtle head to cause the clones to fall from behind. Ok, simple. Gather yourself about 15-20 bones while avoiding those rocks that Scratchy throws, then start tossin'! Seriously, just stand close enough to hit Scratchy with every one, no matter what he throws at you, and he'll die off really quick. I guess the hard part is gathering the bones within the boss stage, but after that it's smooth sailing. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.2 The Medieval Dead -------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the fabled land of yore, where the clones runneth free and the torture is aplenty. Here you'll run into spikes, platforms, Scratchy clones, and little dragons. O, the mighty Trojan horse! Good ol' trojans, who knows how many times they've helped me out... Er, uh yea, this boss is another semi-piece of cake. If you gathered at least 15-20 stones from the Scratchy clones then all you have to do is stand on one of the platforms to the left and throw the stones at the horse head. When you hit the head the horse's tail will smack Scratchy upside the head. If you haven't gathered enough stones then stand on the ground floor and hit each clone that appears from the horse's gut. You can try to avoid the horse shoes that come out of it's mouth, but they follow you so just concentrate on getting all the stones you need. Again Scratchy might almost kill you, but he won't. Gather those stones and kill him! -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.3 Mutilation on the Bounty -------------------------------------------------------------------- Arrrrr matey, welcome to Davey Booones locker! Arrrrr... Beware the pirrrate dogs, sea guuuls, and eviiil clones, arrr. Well damn, what do I say... Kiss the cake goodbye and taste the sour Warhead (a sour candy, real sour...)! Right, so the boss is hard. Gathering the cannon balls here is easy since Scratchy's balls don't reach, so gather about 30 of the balls. When you're ready what you have to do is stand on one of the flying orange fishes and shoot Scratchy when he comes out of that fortress. The only problem is the fact that it's very easy to fall in the water or get blown to pieces by Scratchy's cannon balls, or even get hit by those parrots. All of these things take a lot of damage, so getting a hit on Scratchy is very difficult. The best thing to do is memorize the cannon ball patterns. If you can do this then you can know when to jump or not to jump. Also be careful because the up and down motion of the fishes can sometimes put you right in the path of the cannon balls, so memorizing the fish pattern would also help. Don't worry too much about the parrots, if they're gonna hit you then oh well. It seems hard at first, but once you get those patterns down then you'll be set. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.4 The Pusseidon Adventure -------------------------------------------------------------------- Under the sea! Under the sea! Where it's all bloody, sliced up and gory, under the sea!!! Damn, looks like you have to work at getting those starfish weapons. While the clones make their way towards you Scratchy's submarine will be firing torpedos at you, so as you kill clones try and destroy the torpedos as well. Also avoid or jump over them if you have to. Once you have about 20 starfish run right next to the flashing button, DO NOT hit it. That will cause a piece of the floor to give way. Stand immediately to the right of the button, you should still be touching it in fact. Once you're set just start shooting. Don't stop for anything, just press the button as quickly as possible and if you had enough energy you should easily beat Scratchy. Remember to hit the hatch on top of the sub. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.5 The Magnificent Severed -------------------------------------------------------------------- Howdy partner! Welcome to the wild, vile West! Here ya have gotta deal with cacti, cowboy clones, and quick sand! Ok, simple enough. Stand all the way to the left and gather any more cacti (the plural of cactus), that you'll need. I think about 30 should do it. Also avoid any barrels that get in the way by jumping over them. After you have enough of them run over and stand in a spot where the clones and Scratchy's dynamite sticks don't hit you. Then just shoot cacti like crazy each time Scratchy sticks his head out. The barrels will roll in from behind but just jump if you see one in time. Supa' easy. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.6 A Site for Sawed Eyes -------------------------------------------------------------------- It's like something out of a construction safety video. Walk around the clones, buzz saws, and junk piles to get to Scratchy. The best way to get bricks is to kil them on the first floor as they approach you. Once you have 25-30 bricks you can go attack Scratchy. Now just jump up on the first row of barrels and simply toss the bricks at Scratchy. Real easy. As for all the falling bricks, do what you can. You won't be able to avoid them all, but avoiding the majority should be easy enough. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 3.7 Disassembly Line -------------------------------------------------------------------- The future is now! Look out for the clones, clocks, gears, and of course Scratchy. Stand by that circle thing and collect about 40-45 wrenches if you need to. Then it's Scratchy-killing time. Go all the way to the right and stand next to that arm at the end. What you have to do is stand to the left, shoot a wrench, then quickly move back to the left because the conveyor belt pushed you right. Also remember to hold the weapon button for about a second to make the shot go further. Repeat this shoot and run process and eventually you'll get him without a problem. Congratulations, Scratchy is now a pile of putrid kitty mush! Oh, AND YOU BEAT THE GAME!!! ==================================================================== ===== 4.0 CODES & SECRETS ========================================== There aren't any codes or secrets that I could find, so this section is empty.
